Meet Andrew Caithness – Owner, Founder, and All-Around Car Enthusiast Otago Wholesale Limited, DriveGuard & Hotrods Otago
Andrew’s been in the car industry since he was 16, traveling all over New Zealand to sell cars and build lasting relationships with customers. While he doesn’t claim any fancy academic titles, he made his mark handling luxury cars for the Armstrong Motor Group before channelling that expertise into his own ventures.
Today, Andrew’s mission is simple: ensure everyone drives away with a great car from a dealership they trust. His dream of creating a brand that’s known for quality and integrity keeps him pushing boundaries (and occasionally adding a few grey hairs) as he enters his mid-30s.
When he’s not in the office, you’ll likely find Andrew strolling the beach with his loyal sidekick and Customer Service Dog, Spock. Together, they enjoy scouting for a good piece of driftwood or simply relaxing on the lawn, dreaming up the next big ideas for Otago Wholesale and its sister companies.
“One day in your career, the money won’t matter—a fire will be lit within yourself that not even a tsunami can extinguish. For me, that’s my yard... my staff... my dog.”
Andrew embodies that fiery dedication, working day and night to deliver innovative products and the highest level of integrity for his customers. Friendly, casual, and always up for a chat—Andrew and his team can’t wait to welcome you to Valley Motor Court – by Otago Wholesale. Come experience car buying the way it should be.
Meet Spock (aka Spock-O)—Our Resident Labrador Extraordinaire Official Customer Service Representative & Emotional Trade-In Price Support Dog
A Warm Welcome… and a Wagging Tail
Spock has been part of the Otago Wholesale Team since day one, and in his 6.5 years of customer service, he’s perfected the art of greeting every visitor with pure canine enthusiasm. If there’s an unattended customer around, he’ll be the first to sniff them out—literally—and make sure they feel right at home.

4 Legs, 1 Tail, 2 Ears, and an Unmatched Snout for all things food (placing him solidly in “overqualified” territory).
Employee of the Month for 78 consecutive months (no bones about it—he’s that good).
Key Responsibilities
Security: Keeping a watchful eye out for any suspicious squirrels or unannounced visitors.
Sous Chef: Ready to supervise staff lunches (and taste-test if necessary).
Child Watcher/Babysitter: Young ones adore him—and he’s always happy to join in a game of fetch or keep them entertained.
A Day in Spock’s World
Warm up his official couch (a crucial task he takes very seriously).
Patrol the office, offering tail wags and moral support to colleagues.
Skilfully evaluate potential trade-in vehicles (he’s got a nose for a good deal).
Personal Passions
When he’s off the clock, Spock loves car rides, beach walks, chasing sticks, and going paws-on with a garden hose on full blast—talk about living life to the fullest!
Why Clients Love Working with Spock
Spock’s customer-focused work ethic and genuine eagerness to please turn every visit into a tail-wagging great experience. His presence alone can brighten the toughest day, offering comfort and reassurance to anyone who steps through our doors.

Meet George Mills – Our Detailer Extraordinaire at Valley Motor Court
George has been part of Valley Motor Court since day one back in 2007, honing his grooming skills and mastering every trick of the trade. Known for his sharp eye and methodical work ethic, George takes immense pride in ensuring each vehicle looks its absolute best—day in and day out.
When he’s off the clock, George trades polishing cloths for power tools, serving as a dedicated home handyman, fence builder, and Mitre 10 hardware store explorer. And on those Dunedin “stunner” days, don’t be surprised if you see him cruising around on his motorcycle, taking in the sunshine and fresh air.
Much like Andrew’s passion for the business, George’s commitment to our customers is second to none. He understands exactly what it takes to keep our stock looking fantastic—because he’s been doing it from the start. Friendly, casual, and always ready to roll up his sleeves, George is an essential part of the Valley Motor Court family.
Meet Keira Harvey, known as “Bluffy”—our dynamic Dealership Support, Customer Concierge, and Yard Preparation specialist at Valley Motor Court.
At just 19 years old, Keira has jumped into her first job with enthusiasm, bringing a creative and collaborative spirit to every task.
She is a qualified scuba dive instructor, a valuable team player on the Southland softball team, and a former school captain for two years.
Keira embraces challenges head-on, both in and out of the water. Her positive attitude is evident in everything she does, whether she’s welcoming customers with a smile or meticulously preparing the yard.
Keira is committed to growth and eager to absorb knowledge from her “work family” and everyone she encounters.
When she’s not ensuring a flawless customer experience (or negotiating with a morning alarm that only cooperates sporadically), you can find Keira scuba diving, surfing, or enjoying the beach with friends.
Her passion for adventure drives her resourceful and practical approach, and she possesses an unwavering ambition for continuous improvement.
Keira truly embodies the friendly, laid-back vibe of Valley Motor Court, and we are proud to have her on our team.
You will appreciate working with her, just as we do.
Emissions information is guidance on how environmentally friendly the vehicle is and whether a Clean Car Discount programme fee or rebate applies based on the CO2 rating. The lower the emissions - the higher the rebate, the higher the emissions - the higher the fee. Vehicles are only eligible for a rebate if sold for less than $80,000 including GST and on road costs and have a 3-star safety rating or above. The fees and rebates stated are estimates. The amount of the fee will be confirmed at the time of the first registration in New Zealand and the rebate will be confirmed upon application. For more information on vehicle Emissions and the Clean Car Discount programme, see https://www.rightcar.govt.nz
Energy Economy information is intended for comparative purposes. It is based on World Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure 3 Phase (3P WLTP) standardised testing data that allows consumers to directly compare the emissions and fuel consumption of different vehicle makes and models. It does not necessarily represent the energy economy and/or electric range that will be achieved. The estimated annual cost is based on a vehicle travelling 14,000 km over a year and a nominated petrol, diesel and/or off-peak residential electricity price. Diesel costs include road user charges (RUC). Your actual cost per year, energy economy and or/EV range will vary for many reasons including driving styles, traffic and weather conditions, vehicles loading, vehicle maintenance and tyre pressures. For more information on vehicle Energy Economy, see https://rightcar.govt.nz/
Safety Ratings provide you with simple information about a vehicle’s safety performance and help you to stay safe on our roads. Almost every vehicle has a safety rating from 1 to 5 stars. This rating indicates how well the vehicle is likely to perform in a crash. Vehicles with 4 and 5 stars are the safest, while 1- and 2-star vehicles provide less protection in a crash. A vehicle will have one of the following Safety Ratings: Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) rating, Used car safety rating (UCSR), or Vehicle safety risk rating (VSRR).
